ABOUT DEPARTMENT
Civil Engineering Department was established in the year 2007 with an intake of 60 in Bachelor of Technology. The intake was enhanced to 120 in 2009. The Civil Engineering Department has well qualified and experienced faculty in various specialized areas of Civil Engineering like Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and Environmental Engineering etc. The department has fully established laboratories with latest equipment. The department has also taken up a step forward in the field of consultancy which is the greatest strength of the department and every faculty member is involved in it according to their field of interest. Consultancy Services are being offered both in design and testing of various Construction materials such as cubes, steel etc and on average earning revenue of Rs. 10 lakhs per annum. The department is always focused on to provide practical oriented teaching as a part of university curriculum which we make sure to expose students to various construction sites, like summer internship programs and field visits in association with government and private sectors. Civil Engineering department is looking forward to provide quality education to the students and make the better place for value based learning.
Associations
Association activities are held by department to bring up the best out of students and prepare them to communicate well and perform activities like cultural, technical paper presentations, current affairs, latest technologies etc. It involves interaction between juniors and seniors in a healthy environment.
Department Activities
Civil Engineering Department has been conducting different activities for faculty and students such as Faculty Development Programs, Workshops, Seminars, Guest Lectures and Training programs on new technologies for the benefit of Civil Engineering students. The Department also encourages the students to participate in different events such as paper presentations, poster presentations, model making, quizzes and cultural activities conducted by other colleges. Department of Civil Engineering also arranges Industrial Visits and local field trips. Department made arrangements to send the students for internship programs to acquire practical knowledge which is more useful for their carrier.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)
This education is meant to prepare our students to thrive and to lead. In their careers, our graduates:
PEO 1: FUNDAMENTALS:
To provide students with a strong foundation in the basic Sciences and Mathematics that will enable them to identify and solve Real time problems in Civil Engineering for industries and Research activities.
PEO 2: CORE COMPETENCE:
To provide broad knowledge in Construction technologies and shall be able to apply their fundamental knowledge and contribute to continued core competencies typically comprise, ability or expertise in a specific subject area or skill set for advance research, industries such as heavy constructions like Dams, Power Projects, Bridges etc.
PEO 3: ENGINEERING SYSTEM DESIGN:
To provide opportunity for students to work as part of teams on multi-disciplinary projects. Students shall have relevant engineering design experience so that they shall understand the relationship between theory and practice for construction of basic structural elements like beams, columns and for heavy structures like dams, bridges etc.
PEO 4: EFFICIENT ENGINEER:
Graduates shall possess the special skills like designing, estimating the efficient structure with the help of soft ware tools with which they can solve the problems by enabling the students to work in teams and to be effective lead.
PEO 5: LIFE LONG LEARNING /ETHICS:
To promote student awareness, delivers values of the life-long learning and to develop the students as Professional with ethics and be responsible citizens to promote Industrial progress growth and societal transformation
English Language Lab
The English Language Lab has been established for training students in speaking and listening skills. The lab is well equipped with audio visual system and computers. The computers with LAN and internet connections have been loaded with K Van Solution Language Software. A separate group discussion room is provided for grooming students in public speaking skills.

Chemistry Lab
Chemistry, unlike other sciences, sprang originally from delusions and superstitions, and was at its commencement exactly on a par with magic and astrology.
Thomas Thomson.
The Applied/Engineering Chemistry Lab has a wide range of equipment. The lab is aptly prepared to impart education in Chemistry in a neatly designed, spacious and well-ventilated laboratory with fire extinguishers. It has a capacity to accommodate 30 students. The lab is aesthetically designed with polished ceramics tiles and separate shelves for the student’s equipment.
It provides students with a practical approach towards the various techniques used in engineering application. Practical awareness is inculcated and students are trained both quantitatively and qualitatively during the lab sessions so that their understanding and problem solving abilities can be
enhanced. Students are provided with lab manuals of the activities prescribed to them.
Major Equipment in Applied/Engineering Chemistry Lab are :- UV-Spectrophotometer, Digital Conductivity Meters, Digital Potentiometers, Redwood Viscometers, Pensky Marten’s Flash & Fire Point Apparatus, Electrical Balance, Distillation Unit, Digital pH Meters, Turbidity meter and many more.

Physics Lab
Engineering Physics Lab is well established with latest devices and instruments. Engineering physics lab has equipment for carrying out 15 experiments. Out of these, minimum ten experiments are conducted in course during I B.Tech, I/II semesters as per the JNTUK syllabus. Adequate number of sets of each experiment is available so as to accommodate 30 students at a time in the laboratory. Each group is guided by two faculty members. In the lab, students are given an opportunity to be more imaginative, creative and independent in problem solving through "Design and Planning" of experiments rather than just conducting experiments.
